      Most people think Bourbon Street is all bars and night clubs. Take a look and see the houses as you get closer to Esplanade Avenue. The variety and colorful homes, condos and doubles stand out as you walk the street.

       The first bar is Lafites Blacksmith which is one of the oldest continuing operating bars in the United States. Few streets will you see this kind of variety of homes. The 12 blocks of Bourbon start at Canal Street and end at Esplanade Avenue. Most of the homes are towards Esplanade Avenue.
